Simone Biles wins gold in vault final: Social media reacts

Simone Biles continues to shine on the largest stage in the world at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Biles earned her 10th career medal in the Olympics with an otherworldly performance in the vault final on Saturday. Biles led USA women’s gymnastics to win gold in the team final and also won gold in the all-around final. Biles now has seven career Olympic gold medals, tied with Allyson Felix for most among American woman who are not swimmers.
Her combined score was a 15.300, an average of her two vaults. On her first vault, Biles put up a 15.7 on the Yurchenko double pike, aka the Biles II. Her second vault, the Cheng, earned her a score of 14.9.
Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade finished second to Biles, scoring a combined 14.966 with a 15.100 on her first vault and a 14.833 on her second. Biles still has two individual finals left: balance beam and floor exercise.
